Gougane Barra
Here, on a tiny island on the peacful lake is the remains of a 6th century monastic site founded by St. Finbarr, patron saint of Cork city. Many couples choose to get married in the tiny church here because of it’s magical location. It’s one of the most photograped churches in this part of Ireland.
Bantry
A busy market town and fishing port. Bantry House is one of Ireland’s most attractive Great Houses full of treasures collected by various generations of Earls of Bantry. Optional visit.
Glengarriff
Situated at the foot of the Caha mountains where the mountains meet the sea, Glengarriff is famed for it’s natural beauty. A short boat trip will take you to Garnish Island which is famous for it’s Italian style gardens, Visit to the seal rocks on the way to the Island. The house once owned by the actress Maureen O’Hara can be seen from the boat. Optional.
Travel over the Caha Mountains through rugged scenery with beautiful views from above down onto Bantry Bay. Travel towards Kenmare and through Killarney National Park into Killarney, with fabulous views of the lakes of Killarney.
